Peer Review Proceess
BISMAR Review Processes
1. Submission of Paper
The author submits the paper to the journal. Right now, BISMAR only accepts submissions sent by email to the managing editor at Bismar@arlindo.ac.id.
2. Editorial Board Assessment
The editor looks at the paper's structure and layout to ensure it follows the journal's guidelines and includes all the necessary parts and formatting styles. In this stage, if the submission is deemed out of scope, it will be rejected immediately. However, the paper's quality is not checked right now.
3. Appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief (EIC)
The EIC makes sure the paper fits the journal and is original and engaging enough. If not, the paper will be rejected without review.
4. Invitation to Reviewers
The managing editor invites people he thinks would be good reviewers. ALL REVIEWS ARE CONDUCTED EXTERNALLY AND DOUBLE-BLIND.
5. Review is Conducted
The reviewer takes time to read the paper multiple times. The first read is used to form an initial impression of the work. If big issues are discovered at this point, the reviewer might feel okay in rejecting the paper without needing to do more work.
Otherwise, they might read the paper again and again, taking notes to create a thorough, detailed review. The review is then submitted to the journal, with a recommendation to accept or reject it.
6. Evaluations for Reviews
The EIC looks at all the reviews that come back before deciding on the final outcome. If the reviews are very different, the EIC might bring in another reviewer to provide another opinion before making a decision.
7. Decision Made
The managing editor sends an email to the author with the decision and any relevant reviewer comments.
8. Next Steps
If the paper is accepted, it is sent to production. If the article is rejected or needs changes, either major or minor, the managing editor should add helpful feedback from the reviewers to assist the author in improving the article.
